My character runs and gets pulled back. What is that?

The most characteristic sign of high ping. You ran on your side, the server did not confirm in time, and when the answer arrives you get pulled back to your previous position. It has nothing to do with FPS: the image can be perfectly smooth.

The 30-second test

Notice what exactly is stuttering:

Is the image choppy? Moving the camera is jerky, the menu is jerky, everything moves in jumps. → It is FPS. The problem is your PC.

Is the image smooth but actions happen late? You walk and your character snaps back. Other players teleport. You click and the response takes its time. → It is ping. The problem is your connection.

If it is FPS

Roblox is light, so low FPS there points at configuration rather than a hardware shortage.

If it is ping

Cable, if possible. Biggest single gain. And the main benefit is not the average ping dropping: it is that it stops fluctuating. Unstable ping hurts more than high steady ping.

And something that saves money: upgrading your plan's speed does not lower ping. Speed is how much passes at once; ping is how long a round trip takes. Online games use very little data.

The third case: the server

There is a situation where nothing you do helps.

If the whole world freezes — other players stop, objects hang — but your camera keeps responding normally, the problem is that experience's server.

The test: leave and rejoin. Roblox usually places you on a different server, and if it is fine there, that server was the issue.
