How much does your PC really lag?
UPCHECK is the meter UPBOOST technicians run before and after every optimization. Now you can run it at home: it measures what the FPS counter hides and gives you a score.
Six readings that explain the stutter
DPC jitter
How much system latency varies, in ms. The stutter you feel that the FPS counter never shows.
Timer resolution
How many milliseconds Windows uses to schedule work. Slow timer = late frame.
Real mouse polling rate
How many times per second the mouse reports, measured in the window, not the number on the box.
Ping
Latency to the best available route, to tell a network problem from a PC problem.
Clock stability
Whether the CPU holds its frequency or swings under load.
Configuration audit
The five Windows settings that matter most in games, with the current state of each.
Four steps, under a minute
- 1
Download the file and open it. Nothing is installed; the first launch takes a few seconds while Windows checks the program.
- 2
Click "Analyze my PC". The analysis takes about 40 seconds. For the mouse test, move the cursor in circles over the window for 5 seconds when asked.
- 3
Read the score and what is dragging it down. You can export an HTML report to keep or send to us.
- 4
The "before" is kept for 24 hours. After any change (yours or ours), run it again and compare side by side.
Windows may distrust the file
UPCHECK has no paid code-signing certificate, so SmartScreen and Windows Defender may treat it as an unknown program. It is the same warning any small unsigned program gets. What to do:
- SmartScreen ("Windows protected your PC"): click "More info", then "Run anyway".
- Defender removed the file: open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history, find UPCHECK and choose "Restore" or "Allow on device".
- Rather not deal with it? Message us on WhatsApp and the technician runs the measurement with you during the session.
Runs 100% on your computer
UPCHECK does not need the internet to work and sends no data to UPBOOST or anyone else. The report stays on your desktop. The measurement code is the same one used in UPBOOST sessions.
A low score is not a verdict. It is a diagnosis.
Most low scores come from configuration, not hardware: power plan, timer, interrupts, network. That is exactly what the live optimization fixes, with you watching and measuring again at the end.
Do I need to install it?
No. It is a single portable file. Open it and use it. To remove it, delete the file.
Does it work on laptops?
Yes, Windows 10 or 11 64-bit. On a laptop, run it on the power plan you game with and plugged in, otherwise the score reflects battery-saving mode.
Does the score replace the optimization?
No. It tells you where the problem is; it does not fix it. Use it to measure before and after, whether the change is yours or ours.
Why does the antivirus complain?
Because the program has no paid signing certificate. It is an "unknown" warning, not a "malicious" one. The file is published only by UPBOOST, at the address on this page.
Mac or Linux?
No. The measurements use Windows APIs (timer, DPC, interrupts).
